What is the purpose of Bear Spray?
- BEAR SPRAY, also called BEAR DETERRENT, is a powerful aerosol spray used to temporarily impair an aggressive bear in an attempt to attack humans.
How does it work?
- Bear spray contains capsaicin (the hot active ingredient of pepper) and is sprayed towards a bear’s face to deter an attack. It causes immediate irritation and burning of the eyes, nose and throat. Effects can last for 30 minutes or more.
